Frequently Asked Questions

What Kind Of Work Can Trades Education Recruitment Find Me?

We are pleased to say that we focus on both permanent and hourly paid roles. We will talk with you about where you are on your career path and the right role for you, but we can help find that right fit either way. We also work with Further Education colleges and private training providers so you can pick the pro’s and con’s of both to best suit you and your needs.

What Do I Need To Sign Up With Trades Education Recruitment?

We will need to see proof of qualifications as well as standard right to work and proof of address documents, but to sign up we will just need to have a look at your CV and arrange a chat with you. Don’t worry we can do that to fit around you not being in work for the call! Most colleges will require a cleared Enhanced DBS check, if it is a permanent role they will apply for this, if it is hourly we can arrange that with you.

What Sort Of Timescale is There For Finding Work?

We will assign you a dedicated member of the team depending on what sort of contract you are looking for. We are experienced teachers who have also come off the tools so we hope this means we are all talking the same language and can get the right fit for you.

Who Pays Me and When?

If you are working on an hourly contract you submit your timesheet by Friday and as long as it is compliant you will be paid by midnight on the following Friday. We use an umbrella company who will deduct your NI and tax contributions for you so it is all worked out before you see your final pay each week.

When you are taken on as a permanent employee then the employer will set terms with you, usually monthly. You will also be free to then sign up to the relevant pension scheme, which can be well worth while in colleges.
